Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir says country’s exports will be pushed up to thirty five billion dollars by June 2018.
This he said while unveiling new trade policy at a news conference in Islamabad today.
The Minister said the current exports stand at twenty four billion dollars and the new target is very much achievable.
He said the new trade policy has been framed in consultation with all the relevant stakeholders including private sector, academia, and trade missions abroad.
Khurram Dastagir said the new policy is based on four pillars including product diversification and sophistication, increasing market access, institution developing and trade facilitation.
He said another important point of trade policy is to promote regional connectivity by focusing on enhancing trade links with Afghanistan and Central Asian States.
Khurram Dastagir said that an enabling environment will be provided to exporters to achieve the export targets.
