CPEC plans being developed on basis of scientific parameters

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is being developed under short, medium and long term plans on the basis of scientific planning parameters.

Sources at the Ministry of Planning and Development told that high priority has been accorded to the construction of western corridor with its allied routes under short-term plans.

An allocation of thirty-five billion rupees has been made in the current Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the purpose.

The sources said connectivity of Gwadar to the national highway network will be established with completion of N-85 and M-8 highway projects by December next year, which forms part of the eastern corridor alignment.
