RAWALPINDI: President Mamnoon Hussain says economic progress is the government’s foremost priority and it is extending all possible facilities to the business community for the purpose.
Addressing the annual dinner of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said reduction of power tariff by three rupees per unit for industrial sector is part of this facilitation process.
He said traders can take the exports to a remarkable level in international market by benefiting from the facilities and steps taken by the government.
The President reiterated the government’s resolve to continue Operation Zarb-e-Azb till peace is restored completely and terrorism is uprooted.
He said severity of the energy crisis has subsided, which gave hope to get rid of the power problem within next two years.
He said the government has signed free trade agreements with various countries, while mutual trade accords with neighbouring countries are also in place.
He urged the business community to benefit from all these agreements to boost the exports.
