Electricity shortfall increases to 4500 MW

LAHORE: Urban areas are facing power cut of seven hours while the rural areas have hit by 11 hours electricity outage as the shortfall exceeds 4500mw in the country .

According to National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) the power demand has escalated to 15,100 megawatts and the production has restricted to only 10,500 megawatts.

Electricity demand can also be increased due to dry and hot weather disrupting the power outage schedule whereas the same cause has also created several problems to the residents.
