FPCCI raises reservations over federal budget 2016-17


ISLAMABAD: Expressing serious reservations over the federal budget for 2016-17, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Saturday announced to take extreme position, if government fails to address their concerns.


Addressing a joint press conference, President FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam announced a committee comprising officer-bearers to negotiate with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on different matters before the approval of budget. First meeting in this regard will be held on Tuesday.

Alam said the incumbent government was being considered business-friendly and their expectations were high, however some measures had been proposed which would negatively hit construction industry comprising cement and steel, stationery, plastic industry and rice sector.
