Gold slips

LONDON: Gold fell on Tue­­s­­day after Federal Re­­serve officials sounded a hawkish note on interest rates, boosting the dollar, while attention turned to US payrolls data this week.


Spot gold was down 0.3 per cent at $1,318.77 an ounce at 1400 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery were down $6.10 at $1,321.10.

Silver was down 0.6pc at $18.74 an ounce. Plati­num was 0.7pc lower at $1,062.99, while palladium was down 1.4pc at $686.
