Govt approves development funds for uplift projects

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has approved special development funds for different uplift projects in different parts of the country.

It approved one billion rupees for Katchi Canal Phase-I project and two billion rupees for Greenline Bus System in Karachi.

Seven hundred million rupees were approved for reconstruction of Lyari Expressway while 2.12 billion rupees for greater Karachi water supply scheme besides one billion rupees for Dadu outfall drain system. 2.5 billion rupees have been approved for LNG power stations.

The Government has approved 1.5 billion rupees for fifty percent compensation to the affectees of Mirani Dam. One billion rupees were approved for Mangi Dam water supply scheme in Quetta. Two billion rupees have been approved for Lowari tunnel and link roads.

Three billion rupees have been approved for Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation for promotion of tourism in the country.

Approval was accorded of three billion rupees for the special development of AJK and Gilgit Baltistan.
