WASHINGTON: Pakistan is promoting increased global connectivity through a series of initiatives to transform the country into a knowledge-based economy.
Finance Secretary Dr. Waqar Masood Khan said this while speaking at an event the Global Connect Initiative in Washington.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support to the action lines and targets set under the agenda for the Sustainable Developments Goals.
The Secretary appreciated U.S. Government for launching the Global Connect Initiative to provide internet access to an additional 1.5 billion people worldwide by 2020.
He said the government is determined to transform Pakistan into a knowledge based economy by digitizing every school, college and the university in the country under its programme Vision 2025.
