Mangla Power Station’s capacity being increased to 1310 MW

ISLAMABAD: Mangla Refurbishment Project will increase the generation capacity of Mangla Hydel Power Station from 1,000 megawatt to 1,310 MW.

This was told to WAPDA Chairman Zafar Mahmood in a briefing during his visit to Mangla Dam.

The chairman had a detailed round of Mangla Hydel Power Station, the Dam and the spillways during his visit.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said there is a dire need for injecting low-cost hydroelectric power to the national gird to mitigate electricity shortages and reduce electricity tariff.
