Pakistan economy strengthening due to govt’s prudent policies: Moody’s

The International credit rating agency Moody’s has said that the economy of Pakistan is strengthening due to the government’s prudent economic policies.


In its latest report, Moody’s said that economic stability has increased as the country has completed International Monetary Fund program for the first time and work is underway on different infrastructure projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The rating agency expected GDP growth to expand by 4.9 per cent in the fiscal year ending in June next year which would be the fastest pace since 2008.

The report said that problem loans will decline to around 10 percent of total loans by the end of next year compared with 11.1 per cent at the end of June 2016.
