Pakistan to raise $1b through Sukuk bonds: Dar

Pakistan would raise one billion dollars from international debt markets through the issuance of five-year dollar-denominated Sukuk bonds.

This was announced by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Minister said Pakistan has received offers worth 2.4 billion dollar from 90 institutional investors from across the globe.

The country has decided to accept offers worth one billion dollars at profit rate of 5.5%, which is lowest in the history of the country.
