Pakistan, Uzbekistan vow to further enhance bilateral ties

TASHKENT: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have expressed the resolve to further enhance their brotherly relations especially in the field of economics and trade.

This understanding reached during a meeting between Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and Uzbek Foreign Minister in Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

Syed Tariq Fatemi is in Uzbekistan to attend the 43rd Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

The two sides also discussed wide ranging issues during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Maldives met Syed Tariq Fatemi on the sidelines of the meeting. They discussed bilateral relations and agreed on the need to further strengthen these relations.

The Maldives’s Foreign Minister thanked Pakistan for its support to Maldives during Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group and other multilateral fora.

Syed Tariq Fatemi appreciated Uzbekistan for hosting the 43rd Session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
