Punjab govt to spend Rs70 billion on drinking water schemes


LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says the provincial government will spend 70 billion rupees to provide clean drinking water during the next three years.


Presiding over a meeting in Lahore today, he said 11 billion rupees will be spent on the project during the current fiscal year.

The Chief Minister said the clean water projects have already been launched in Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran and Bahawalpur districts. It will be implemented transparently within the time line.
