If reports are to be believed then Charlize Theron is all set for a face off against Vin Diesel in the next Fast and Furious film.
According to the Deadline, filmmaker F Gary Gray is planning to add a female antagonist in the eighth instalment of the hit series.
The 40-year-old actor is in early talks to play the main villain in the film.
If Theron hops on, the project will reunite her with filmmaker F Gary Gray, who directed her in 2003 film The Italian Job.
Theron recently featured as Imperator Furiosa in the George Miller’s high-octane action drama, Mad Max Fury Road. Therefore, it won’t be difficult for Charlize Theron to get into the character easily in the street car racing series.
Meanwhile, Charlize Theron is still in talks and Dwayne Johnson, who played Hobbs character in Furious 7, will reprise his role in the next instalment.
Dwayne Johnson confirmed the news through his Instagram account. The 43-year-old actor shared a photo with a caption, “Gotta be mean and nasty as a junkyard dog with this wild, long and hard 12months straight of shooting now of BALLERS, BAYWATCH, FAST & FURIOUS 8 and the big one, RAMPAGE… (sic)”
Furious 7, which released in 2015, grossed USD 1.516 billion at the global box office. A few days back, Vin Diesel shared a poster on his Instagram account, which reads: “2 Decades 10 Films 1 Saga.” He announced the release dates of last three instalments: April 14, 2017, for the eighth film; April 19, 2019, for the ninth; and April 2, 2021, for the 10th.
The production on the film is expected to begin in the northern spring, ahead of an April 2017 release.
