LAHORE: Lahore and adjacent areas received heavy downpour on Wednesday, which led to power outages and suspension of flight operations in the province.
One man died while nine were injured in incidents related to collapsing of rooftops and electrocution.
The torrential rain inundated the streets of the capital city and disturbed routine lives of the citizens.
The rain caused 194 feeders to trip in Lahore, according to the Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (Lesco) spokesman.
The spokesman said that the power supply would be reinstated in the affected areas after rain stops, adding that restoration work could not be carried out during rain.
The spokesman also cautioned citizens against touching electricity poles.
