KARACHI: Corps Commander in Karachi Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar on Tuesday has vowed to maintain peace in Karachi by using all the resources.
Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar met DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar at Rangers headquarters and said that harmony in Karachi is a consequence of sacrifices and nation’s trust.
Corps Commander expressed resentment on anti-Pakistan slogans and derogatory speeches of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain while he also got briefing over the undergoing Karachi operation.
Will continue action till the elimination of last criminal, he pledged.
On the other hand, Corps Commander Lieutenant also met Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali shah and comprehensively discussed law and order situation in Karachi. Both leaders also talked about enhancing security of media houses.
CM Sindh also telephoned Inspector General Sindh AD Khawaja and exchanged views over strategies regarding protection of the locals.
Murad Ali Shah also directed IG Sindh to monitor the security of mayor and deputy mayor elections to be held on Wednesday.
