Army chief Raheel Sharif meets Turkish leaders

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and President Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara separately, ISPR reported.

Both leaders appreciated Pakistan role for regional peace and Pakistan Army’s contributions in defeating terrorism,” DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa tweeted.

The army chief pledged Pakistan’s complete full support in handling Turkey’s security challenges.

According to Bajwa, Turkish leadership emphasized fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations.

The army chief also called on Defenece Minister, CGS separately and expressed satisfaction on defence cooperation.

Both sides vowed to further enhance the defence collaboration.
