RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said Pakistan defeated a far bigger enemy 50 years ago and the armed forces are still today protecting the country at eastern and western borders and they will continue doing so in future as well.
The nation will not spare its unceasing enemy if it ever watches Pakistan with a malign eye, he said adding the zest and zeal of 1965 war still persists.
Bajwa said this while attending full-dress rehearsal of main Defence Day event. He also congratulated the entire nation on the golden jubilee of 1965 war, saying the 31-gun salute will be given to the martyrs and Army Chief will also address the main event.
The ISPR boss asserted the anti-terrorism war is in progress, adding the cross-border violations are everyday occurrences; however, Pakistan Army will continue to defend the country in concert with the nation.
Maj. Gen. Bajwa pointed out Defence Day is an opportunity for the entire nation to fuse into unity.
