QUETTA: An anti-corruption court in Quetta on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 81 foreign nationals who obtained Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) illegally.

The presiding judge also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officer Ali Adnan Tabah for illegal issuance of CNICs.

Earlier in August, a court had convicted four accused, including two NADRA officers for issuing CNICs to foreign nationals in Balochistan.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had initiated their investigation against the accused in 2013. The accused had issued hundreds of CNICs to foreign nationals in Balochistan.

Recently, NADRA has blocked thousands of unverified CNICs in Balochistan.
