KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for various Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders including its chief Altaf Hussain in a hate speech case.
Senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar is also among 22 party leaders whose arrest warrants have been issued.
While, MQM’s mayoral candidate for Karachi, Waseem Akhtar, has got bail in the same case till February 16.
The MQM leaders were accused of delivering and facilitating anti-Pakistan speeches as well as inciting violence. The MQM leaders had attended a public gathering and listened to Altaf Hussain’s outburst against security agencies on July 12 this year.
In September last year, the ATC had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for MQM chief Altaf Hussain in the criminal intimidation case registered on the complaint of Colonel Tahir Mehmood of Sindh Rangers.
