KARACHI: Sindh Rangers chief Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar said that one bank officer was arrested by paramilitary force on charges of sheltering protesters during August 22 riots.
Speaking to media persons at Jinnah Hospital on Monday, Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar said investigations are under way.
“Muttahida founder incited his supporters to violence under a plan,” he said.
“We have rounded up six suspects involved in the rioting,” he said, adding that “we have also identified armed protestors and those who brought batons there.”
The DG Rangers said that two bank officers gave shelter to unknown persons and one of them was later arrested.
