Banned BLF chief killed in Mastung operation

MASTUNG: The head of a defunct Baloch militant group was killed in an operation in Mastung district of Balochistan province on Friday night, officials said.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) head Abdul Manan was killed during the operation last night.

At least eight insurgents were killed in the operation which continued for many hours.

He said that the operation was conducted by security forces in Mastung following an ambush from militants.

Manan had become the head of the militant group after the killing of Dr Allah Nazar last year.
