Bashir Birohi sent on 15-day physical remand

HYDERABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Hyderabad has sent accused Bashir Birohi, manager of Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, on 15-day physical remand in Asif Memon kidnapping case.

Asif Memon, nephew of sitting Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and former DIG Hyderabad Bashir Memon, was kidnapped in October last and was released 82 days later upon payment of Rs7.5m as ransom.

The Sindh government came in action after 10 months of Asif Memon abduction. As case was registered and inquiry board, headed by DIG Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind, was also constituted to probe into arrest of personal manager of Sharjeel Memon over allegations of kidnapping for ransom.

On Friday, special Rangers team also investigated Bashir Birohi in Makli.
