KASUR: The wife of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Reham Khan, said Monday that the victims of the child abuse scandal — the children and their parents — are looking towards the Parliament and the Punjab government to seek justice.

She was addressing a press conference after meeting the families and victims of child abuse on her visit to Kasur.

Reham urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to follow through on his promise to deliver ‘exemplary punishment’ to the culprits.

“Justice should be delivered as swiftly as possible; people will not accept any delays in the judicial inquiry,” she asserted.

She further said, “PTI needs to play an important role to make sure that justice is delivered in the case”.

“Sexual abuse of children is not a problem unique to Kasur and there is an urgent need to rid Pakistan of this ill,” she added.

Media must continue to cover scandal
Reham urged the media to continue its coverage of the child abuse scandal, saying that the victims of this scandal should not be forgotten.

She asked the media to keep running programmes on the scandal and added that she will be available to the media to discuss the issue. She also stressed on the need to be apolitical in order to have candid discussions on the issue.
