Atleast 11 killed, dozens injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA: At least 11 people lost their lives and 18 others sustained wounds as a result of a bomb blast in a packed passenger bus here at Saryab Road on Monday, police sources said.

According to sources, the dead and injured, most of them critically, have been shifted to a local hospital.

An emergency has been imposed in all hospitals of the Balochistan capital.

Police and rescue services have reached the site of the blast, which has been cordoned off by the authorities for investigation.

The bus was crowded with passengers, most of them from the outskirts of Quetta, when the powerful explosion ripped through the bus.

The Bomb Disposal Squad also arrived at the blast spot and started collecting evidence.

Balochistan Home Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, has said that the battle will continue against terrorism until complete elimination of the menace from the country.

He said more steps will be taken to ensure protection to the life and property of the people.
