KARACHI: Sindh government on Monday imposed a ban on pillion riding in Karachi from 8th to 10th of Muharram, NewsONE reported.
While chairing a high-level meeting, Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah ordered to shut cellular services in Karachi on the day of Ashura.
Strict safety measures have been put in place to ensure security during Muharram processions across the province, with armed forces monitoring the situation from the skies in Karachi.
Army will be available on standby in case the city experiences any law and order situation during Ashura next month.
Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan was also present in the meeting.
