RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Friday visited the headquarters of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and hailed its role for eliminating terrorism.
In a statement, Military’s chief spokesman Major Gen Asim Bajwa said that the army chief appreciated the ISI in preempting numerous terror acts in the last few months.
The Director General (DG) ISI, Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar briefed him about internal and external security situation of the country and counter terrorism operations.
The army chief emphasized the need to enhance capacity of intelligence agencies to further prevent such acts from happening,.
“The COAS directed focus on synergising operations and capacity enhancement of civil-military intelligence agencies at national level for optimum effect,” he said.
