RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Monday stressed upon the need to invest on future generations in order to steer the country towards success.
Addressing the 49th Convocation Ceremony of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), the army chief said every individual have an enormous responsibility and that the passed out students will rise and shine as the future of Pakistan.
COAS said an environment has been created where fear and retribution from the terrorists and criminals has largely been reduced.
“Relative security needs to be transformed into an enduring peace and stability for the nation. A Whole of the nation approach is important to bring our endeavors to a logical end”, the COAS said.
General Sharif paid rich tribute to sacrifices of citizens and soldiers in achieving this state of stability and peace.
COAS appreciated the College leadership for improving postgraduate medical education and health care services in the country.
Prof. Zafarullah Chaudhry, President CPSP in his welcome address acknowledged the army chief’s historic contributions and strenuous efforts for peace and stability of the country, his remarkable achievements against terrorism and for modernizing the health care system in Pakistan Army.
During the ceremony, COAS was conferred upon the honorary fellowship of the CPSP.
The citation of CPSP also reads that “General Raheel Sharif through his vision, resolve, sincerity and commitment against terrorism has become a leading figure of our times”.
