COAS visits Layya, regrets loss of life in recent floods

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Monday told his commanders to push the flood relief operation on war-footing.

“Employ all the resources and leave no stone unturned to save the casualties,” the army chief said directing the officers to remain vigilant during his visit to flood-devastated Layya where military is busy rescuing the flood affectees.

According to Director General, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Asim Saleem Bajwa’s twitter message, the COAS expressed the deepest regret over devastation and loss of life as well as property.

During the visit the COAS also met TDPs from North Waziristan and received kudos for successful operations and for purging the territory of militancy.
