Corps Commander Multan visits Layyah, directs to speed up relief activities

MULTAN: Corps Commander Lt General Ishfaq Nadeem on Wednesday has paid a visit to Layyah after destruction by floods and issued directives to speed up relief activities.

The Corps Commander was briefed regarding the situation by different departments. According to the details, more than 100 villages have been washed away as at least 5 lac cusecs water passed through the area. At least 2 lac acres land has been destroyed in the floods.

The administration has provided a mere total of 21 camps and nine camp communities for at least 275,000 affectees. The locals could not hold themselves while the Lt General Nadeem was being briefed by administrative authorities however, he assured the affectees of all possible help and support in this difficult time.

He urged the locals to cooperate with army as soldiers who are trying their best to shift families to safer places.
