ISLAMABAD: Addressing a press conference Danyal Aziz said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders have also been named in the Panama Leaks as the ones associated with these parties are directly involved in the case whereas Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif is not directly involved.

He said that Terms of References (TORs) will be changed if court orders to do so. He said that International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has also failed in the investigation and that the party has started legal proceedings against the firm. He said that company has been making factual errors.

Showing the documents of ICIJ he said that PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi also owns an offshore company since past 3 years.

Other than that, PTI leaders Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan have also been named in the leaks and making excuses whereas Aleem Khan accepted that he has his wealth saved in offshore companies and promised to bring his money back. Jahangir Tareen bought the property and paid its price five years later through an offshore company, he added.

He questioned Aleem Khan that “why did not he bring the money back despite of all the poverty and inflation in the country?” Criticising PTI, he said that the laws legislated since 1947 have been discarded by the party as it has implemented new ones because corruption would be much easier for them this way.

He said that Order 2002 has been implemented in KP which was legislated and implemented by him. Talking about police he said that he legislated the Police Ordinance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while local governing bodies do not need to be changed. PTI is changing the rules and regulations while no changes have been made in the bodies, he stated.

He also said that PTI, the party with developments plans in their hands, has done nothing in its province since 2013. PTI used to claim that it would eradicate corruption, poverty and provide job facilities to youth within the initial 90 days of its tenure but the party leaders did nothing but bragging about their plans, he addded.

He also said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz herself stated that she has no property abroad and facts have not been presented in their original form and added that Maryam should not be targeted any way regarding Panama Leaks as she is not elected representative from the party.

There would be zero tolerance with respect to changes in TORs, Danial said.
