KARACHI: Director General (DG) Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Major General Bilal Akbar on Tuesday took notice of life threats to Karachi Mayor-designate Waseem Akhtar.
In a statement issued here, the DG Rangers asked Waseem to apprise him about the threats he has been receiving.
The statement comes a few hours after the Karachi mayor-designate revealed that he has been facing threatening phone calls to end cleanliness drive in Karachi.
Akbar said fool proof security would be ensured to the Karachi mayor-designate, asking him to keep confidence in law enforcement agencies.
Major General Akbar said the Rangers would ensure the security of each citizen of Karachi.
