KARACHI: Dr. Yousuf Sattar, deputy medical director of Ziauddin Hosptial and witness in a case against Dr. Asim Hussain, Monday recorded a “confessional statement” before the judicial magistrate conceding the allegations leveled against the PPP leader.

The statement was recorded under section 164 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) which deals with “abetment by public servant of offences such as taking gratification by corrupt or illegal means and exercise of personal influence.”

Dr. Asim listened to the statement and did not raise any objection when the witness was recording his statement before the magistrate.

Dr. Yousuf has confessed having treated 28 terrorists in the hospital on pressure of Muttahida Qaumi Movment (MQM) leaders.

He also admitted that PPP leader Qadir Patel also asked the hospital to treat militants of gang war.
