LAHORE: A teenaged car driver, who crushed to death a 25-year-old man in Lahore, has been identified as Talha, son of a senior police official, sources claimed on Tuesday.
According to sources, the incident occurred late on Monday in Lahore’s Jauhar Town where a speedy car hit the victim Bilal who died on the spot.
The driver was later arrested by police and was identified as 16-year-old son of a local DSP Naved Irshad’s son, Talha, found driving the car without any driving licence.
Sources said police impounded the vehicle and released the accused without any legal proceeding against him over the killing.
Punjab police spokesperson, Nabeela Ghazanfar, said that IG Punjab has taken notice of the incident. She assured that action would be taken against the accused as per the law.
Meanwhile, Punjab government spokesman Zaim Qadri also assured action against the teenaged driver, saying that “none will be allowed to take law into own hands.”
