HYDERABAD: Pak Sarzameen Party’s Secretary General Raza Haroon on Saturday termed the episode between Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) leader Khawaja Izhar and SSP Malir Rao Anwar as inappropriate.

The PSP leader also urged Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to hear the perspective of the suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar.

“The way raid and arrests are made is inappropriate,” said Haroon.

Responding to a query about arrest of Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Haroon called for following required procedure laid down in law.

He said the incident had evoked a strong reaction from the chief minister of the province.

“The CM and the new investigating officer should hear Khawaja Izhar and the SSP’s perspective as well,” added the PSP general secretary.

He added that a uniformed senior police official had leveled serious allegations while talking to the media, and the chief minister should take the matter to its logical conclusion.

On Friday, police took Khawaja Izhar into custody hours after raiding and searching his residence.

Khawaja Izhar was later released from custody and returned home later the same day.
