PESHAWAR: Masoom Shah, former KP chief minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti’s advisor, Wednesday attempted to commit suicide at Central Jail in Peshawar.
According to sources, the former advisor, who is facing corruption charges, snatched pistol from a policeman and tried to shoot in his head when he was being brought back to the Central Jail from accountability court.
However, the police personnel prompt into action and thwarted the suicide bid. The sources said the policemen had already submitted magazines of their pistol at the gate of the jail.
The policemen have informed the authorities about the incident.
