KARACHI: Co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday rejected the Federal Budget 2015-16.

Zardari in his statement issued today said that the government failed to introduce any policy in favor of the poor.

“The budget presented yesterday is anti-people and Kissan,” he stated. “Nawaz-league failed to bring a budget in favor of the people.”

The budget disappointed employees with low salary packages and it contained announcements to please the already rich, lamented the PPP co-chairman.

Former President lamented: “The lower class is suffering from deprivation and disappointment and the already privileged class was further favored in the budget.”

“People have been left only to pray,” PPP Co-Chairman added.

Zardari stressed on the need to introduce reforms in tax system and called the federal government to fulfill the promises it made to the provinces in the May 28 all parties conference (APC).

The former president also called for including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in budget priorities, adding, “Peoples Party will back all mega projects in the country”.
