ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday demanded strict action against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief and the party’s “militant wing”.
“Altaf Hussain enticed his workers to attack journalists and raise anti-Pakistan slogans. Which country allows a man sitting in London to instigate violence on its soil,” Imran asked during a press conference in Islamabad.
Khan maintained that Karachi was termed ‘city of lights’ before MQM, under Altaf Hussain, ruined the metropolis through its politics. Khan, who in the past spoke many times against the party, said that government should hold MQM chief and all his party workers who attacked media accountable for their deeds. He also reminded people about Altaf Hussain’s anti- Pakistan statement in India but appealed that educated and sane elements should not be blamed for one man’s statements.
It must be remembered that MQM workers attacked ARY News office in Karachi’s Saddar area on Monday which left three people injured.
The office’s marketing section and reception was completely destroyed in the episode which continued for more than an hour.
