PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan here on Monday said that increase in forests is vital for better and bright future of the country.
Speaking at Golden Jubilee ceremony of Forest Institute Peshawar, Khan stressed the need for growing forests on maximum area of land in the country.
Imran Khan said conservation of forests is collective responsibility of the society. The PTI chief added that timber mafia illegally cut forests having worth of 200 billion rupees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
However, he lauded the efforts of police department for busting the gangs of timber mafia.
Khan concluded that protection of forests not only our responsibility but also a survival issue.
