SIALKOT: Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing in Nakial sector of the Working Boundary here on Monday, which was befittingly responded by the Pakistani side.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops opened unprovoked firing which was responded by Pakistan Rangers in a befitting manner.

However, there were no reports of casualties from either side.

India has violated ceasefire at the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) on several occasions in the past also.

The incident happened days after officials of the two sides had agreed to a ceasefire at the Working Boundary during their meeting held on Saturday.

Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh was quoted by Indian media as saying that his country’s forces ‘will not fire the first bullet along the border’.

On Sunday, the Indian side had alleged Pakistani forces of killing a BSF soldier, a claim Pakistan government denied immediately saying no such event occurred throughout the weekend.
