Islamabad protest will be held at any cost: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Thursday reiterated his resolve to hold his protest on November 2 in the federal capital and invited every underprivileged citizens to attend the sit-in.

He said this while addressing media at his residence here hours after Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered government and the PTI not to lock down the city.

The government is depriving people of their right to launch peaceful protest and has started arresting the political workers and leaders, said Imran Khan adding no democracy in the world does this.

“I strongly condemn the monarchy of Nawaz Sharif as so termed by Supreme Court of Pakistan,” said the PTI Chairman asserting that Nawaz Sharif himself is product of a dictator.

It is Nawaz Sharif who most destroyed the national institutions, said Khan addressing the PM, “You spoiled morality in the country.”

Addressing the media, the PTI’s legal adviser Naeem Bukhari commented on the IHC order, saying, “It is not a ruling. The IHC just passed an order.”

“First of all, the court did not hear us. The IHC transgressed its jurisdiction in its order. Does the high court has the power to pass such an order,” Bukhari noted.

Naeem Bukhari also said he was first intimidated to quit the case followed by an offer of a big post.

Babar Awan Advocate said no order could be given without hearing the litigants under Article-10 of the Constitution, adding, “Hence, we will make a decision on the IHC order during the next 24 hours.”
