ISPR says Captain Asfandyar amoung 20 martyred in Peshawar attack

PESHAWAR: At least 20 people were martyred during Friday’s terrorists attack on air force base camp near Peshawar city, before the security forces eliminated 13 of the attackers.

According to DG ISPR, a group of attackers rushed to a mosque inside Badaber base camp and martyred at least 16 people while they were offering Fajar prayers at around 6am.

Meanwhile DG ISPR also said that Capt Asfandyar embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly against the terrorists who attacked PAF airbase camp in Badaber area.

The 27-year-old soldier was leading his troops from the front during the clearance operation.

Captain Asfandyar Bukhari had received Sword of Honour in 118th Long Course and was awarded Tactics Medal as well. He remained vice captain of his college hockey team and played Punjab under-19 hockey.

He was chess champion at college, president of the biology club, editor of the college megazine and remained member of the board of editors for five years.
