ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Sirajul Haq on Monday announced that the party will initiate a train march from Khyber to Karachi to raise awarenss in the people against corruption.
While addressing a press conference after the conclusion of JI’s meeting in Islamabad, Siraj said that the party will introduce a bill in the Parliament against corruption and demanded that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should not let go any culprits.
Siraj said that the train march, that is to be initiated from May 23, shall be aimed to create awareness against corruption among the people of Pakistan. He added that every child in the country is indebted to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because of the corrupt leaders. “Some families are sucking blood similar to the East-India Company while occupying public and political posts”, he said.
JUI ameer added that the rich are arranging celebrations in Larkana that cost around Rs 1 billion whereas the children in Thar are dying because of lack of resources. He said that there exist separate schools, hospitals and laws in the country for those who are corrupt, adding that the members of the government as well the ones from the opposition are involved in corruption.
Siraj stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is not demanding accountability of the Prime Minister alone; he said that the party demands unbiased accountability of everyone either from the governmental or the opposition, adding that the system should not be derailed while going for accountability and that the process must not take place as an act of vengeance.
He further stated that those who are named in the Panama Leaks are trying to save themselves, adding that the investigation of the matter is also being carried out in different countries of the world and that many conscientious leaders resigned from their posts.
