KARACHI: As many as six shops were burned down completely after an intense fire broke out at Super Market, Liaquatabad in Friday’s wee hours. Over 20 other shops were partly damaged in the conflagration.

A Fire Brigade official said ten firefighting vehicles and a water bowser took part in the operation to put out the fire.

He said that firefighters faced problems to control the blaze owing to narrow streets; however, the Rescue crew accomplished the operation by breaking locks of the shops.

According to reports, the fire erupted overnight at a cloth storehouse and spread to other shops in the market.

According to fire brigade officials, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained so far.
