Karachi police detains TTP Swat commander

KARACHI: Karachi police arrested five suspects including outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat commander in Karachi in the wee hours of Tuesday, police officials said.

According to SHO Manghopir Ghulam Hussain Koraye, police conducted a search operation in Manghopir area after receiving information about the presence of criminal elements in the area.

During the operation, TTP Swat commander Gul Nawab and four other suspects were arrested. Motorcycles and weapons were also recovered.

The commander was wanted for activities linked to terrorism and for the supply of weapons.

During a door-to-door search, 47 other suspects were also detained and were shifted to police station for questioning.
