Karachi: Sindh police detains South African extortion ring

KARACHI: Sindh Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three suspects, who were working for an extortion network being operated from South Africa.

According to police, the Ajmir Nagri police arrested the suspects from whom weapons and computers were also recovered.

The suspects were identified as Wasif Rafiq, Faizan alias Matho and Hassan Tufail.

The police said that the accused used to send extortion chit wrapped in a bullet to the doctors on the directives of a man named Furqan from South Africa.

DIG West said that Hassan Tufail is also involved in the killing of four people in Karachi.

Extortion chits were also recovered from the possession of the accused, DIG added.
