LONDON: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on international community to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in order to restore enduring peace in the region.
“Kashmir is an unfinished agenda. World must help in resolving Kashmir issue if want genuine peace in region,” General Sharif said, while addressing a gathering in London on Friday.
COAS said that Indian intransigence, ceasefire violations and indirect strategy against Pakistan is negatively affecting the region.
“Our disputes reside in Kashmir,” Army chief maintained.
Commenting on ties with Afghanistan, he said that “While we continue to support enduring and permanent peace in the neighboring. Lets all beware of detractors and spoilers.”
“With people of Afghanistan, our relations are brotherly and blood ties. Border management and greater intelligence cooperation is must for regional peace.”
He, however, stressed that anti-Pakistan propaganda must end.
The army chief further said that Pakistan’s security environment is now becoming conducive for upward economic trajectory.
“We will continue towards bringing total security.”
