LAHORE: Five key leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from Punjab have decided to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after evolving differences with the party leadership, sources said early on Tuesday.

According to sources, former federal minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal, former provincial minister and president of PPP’s Okara chapter, Asharf Khan Sohna, former state minister Samsam Bukhari, former MNA from Narowal Chaudhry Tariq Anees and PPP ticket-holder from Okara Arif Lashari have decided to part ways with the party.

The decision was taken after the party leadership failed in addressing reservations of the said leaders, they added.

Sources further said the PPP leaders are likely to formally announce their decision of joining the PTI ranks in a meeting with the party chief Imran Khan in Islamabad later today.
