ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Sunday reacted to the Indian allegations and said that the situation deteriorated in Indian-held Kashmir due to Indian atrocities and abuse of human rights.

Khawaja Asif added that Pakistan has nothing to do with the Uri incident, adding that Pakistan only extends moral support to Kashmiris.

He said that it was short-sightedness on India’s part to neglect a reaction in return for the atrocities it commits in the occupied territory.

The defence minister said that the Pak-India Line of Control in Kashmir is completely closed.

He later on tweeted on the subject too, saying “By blaming Pak for Uri and any attempt to escalate tension to deflect attention from state terrorism in Kashmir will prove expensive for Indians.”

Following the Uri army base attack in the Indian-held Kashmir that killed 17 Indian soldiers, a hotline contact was established between the directors general of military operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, according to the ISPR.

Pakistan remained firm upon its stance and rejected India’s baseless and premature allegations.

Pakistan reiterated that it is determined not to let its territory be used against any country and there are strict security arrangements in place around the working boundary and LoC, said the ISPR.

It was shortly after the rebel-attack on an army brigade headquarter in Indian Occupied Kashmir on Sunday that the Indian authorities along with its media started the blame game against Pakistan.
