KP Assembly passes resolution against MQM chief

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly adopted a resolution on Monday, condemning Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) head Altaf Hussain for his disparaging remarks against armed forces.

Senior KP minister Inayatullah tabled the resolution, which was approved by the house.

The resolution called for registration of case against Altaf Hussain under high treason.

The resolution said that Altaf Hussain used abusive and derogatory remarks against national security institutions.

On Saturday, Balochistan Assembly unanimously passed a resolution, calling for treason case against Altaf Hussain.

Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) also moved separate resolutions in the Punjab Assembly.
